Community Guidelines
Last updated: 2026-10-05
These Community Guidelines apply to everyone who uses the Jewgo marketplace app, merchant storefronts and business dashboard, and related Jewgo services. They explain how we keep the platform accurate, respectful, and useful for Jewish communities.
Purpose of These Guidelines
Jewgo exists to help Jewish communities discover trustworthy local businesses and services through the Jewgo marketplace app and merchant storefronts.
These Community Guidelines help ensure Jewgo remains a trusted, community-focused platform where users can rely on the information they see and feel comfortable participating.
These guidelines apply to all users, merchants, businesses, and organizations on Jewgo. Violation may result in content removal, storefront restrictions, account suspension, or account removal, at Jewgo's discretion.
Eligibility
Jewgo is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. By using Jewgo, you represent that you meet this requirement. Jewgo does not knowingly permit accounts or content from users under 13.
General Community Standard
Jewgo is built for marketplace discovery and local commerce.
Users should:
- Interact respectfully
- Post accurate information
- Avoid misleading or harmful content
- Use the platform in good faith
Jewgo reserves the right to remove content or restrict accounts that undermine trust, safety, or accuracy, even if the behavior is not explicitly listed in these guidelines.
Account Authenticity & Representation
Users, businesses, and organizations must represent themselves honestly.
This includes:
- Using accurate identifying information
- Not impersonating people, businesses, or institutions
- Not misrepresenting affiliation or ownership of listings
- Not creating fake listings or fake profiles
Ownership claims for entities may require verification.
Accounts found to be misleading or deceptive may be restricted or removed.
Listings, Storefronts & Information Accuracy
Because Jewgo helps people make real decisions, accurate information is critical.
Storefronts should include:
- Correct business name, address, and contact information
- Accurate hours and service areas where applicable
- Honest product and service descriptions, pricing, and photos you have rights to use
- Correct kosher or certification details when you choose to display them
Jewgo may label listings as community-submitted, owner-claimed, verified, unverified, or last-updated based on available information. A "verified" label means only that Jewgo has confirmed ownership or contact information for a listing. It does not mean that Jewgo has independently confirmed kosher status, religious information, operational details, or any other listing content.
Repeatedly posting inaccurate or misleading information may result in listing restrictions or account action.
Responsibility for Content You Submit
You are legally responsible for the content you submit, including ensuring you have the rights to upload photos, logos, and other materials and that your submissions do not violate any applicable law or third-party rights. If you submit information about a business, kosher certification, product, or service, you are responsible for ensuring it is accurate and not misleading.
Harassment, Hate, and Abuse
Jewgo does not allow:
- Harassment or threats
- Hate speech
- Targeting individuals or groups
- Abusive messaging or behavior
This applies to:
- Reviews
- Profiles
- Storefronts
- Messages
- Quote requests
- Bookings
- Orders
- Invoices
Violations may result in immediate account restriction.
Reviews & User Feedback
Reviews must reflect real experiences.
Not allowed:
- Fake reviews
- Reviews written on behalf of others
- Harassment through reviews
- Competitor sabotage
- Incentivized reviews without disclosure
Jewgo may remove reviews that violate these standards.
Merchant Storefronts
Businesses operating storefronts on Jewgo are responsible for the information they publish and the way they interact with customers.
Merchants should:
- Keep storefront details, products, and services up to date
- Respond to customer inquiries professionally and in good faith
- Honor quoted prices, bookings, invoices, and promotions you publish unless clearly corrected in advance
- Handle refunds and payment disputes honestly and in line with your stated policies
- Use messaging, quote, booking, invoicing, and payment tools only for legitimate business purposes
- Provide accurate identity-verification materials when requested
- Not impersonate another business or claim ownership without authorization
Abuse of storefront tools, spam outreach, or misleading offers may result in storefront restrictions or account action.
Job Postings
Businesses posting employment, internship, freelance, or other work opportunities on Jewgo must not state or imply a preference, limitation, or exclusion based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
This does not create a general exception for stating a protected-class preference. A bona fide occupational qualification is a narrow, legally defined exception (for example, certain roles at a religious institution) and does not cover a general staffing preference. If you believe a specific posting qualifies for such an exception, you are responsible for confirming that with your own counsel before publishing it; Jewgo does not evaluate or certify BFOQ claims.
Postings must not charge applicants a fee, misrepresent the role, employer, or compensation, or collect applicant data outside the contact details or application link the posting discloses. Jewgo may remove a posting or restrict a storefront's job-posting access for violating this section.
Storefront Offers & Promotions
Offers published on a storefront must clearly communicate:
- What the offer is
- How to redeem it
- Any limitations or conditions
Not allowed:
- Fake giveaways
- Misleading discounts
- Bait-and-switch offers
- Expired promotions left active intentionally
Jewgo may remove storefront promotions that mislead users.
Customer Conduct
Customers using Jewgo to discover businesses, request quotes, book services, or pay merchants should interact respectfully and in good faith.
Customers should not:
- Submit false quote, booking, or payment requests
- Harass merchants through messages or reviews
- Attempt to circumvent platform protections with off-platform payment scams
- Abuse refund or dispute processes
Spam & Platform Abuse
The following are not allowed:
- Repeated duplicate storefronts or outreach
- Automated posting or messaging
- Mass unsolicited outreach
- Attempts to manipulate rankings or engagement
- Misuse of save, share, or review features
Accounts engaging in spam behavior may be restricted.
Jewish Community Focus
Jewgo is designed to support Jewish communal commerce and trustworthy local discovery.
Storefronts and businesses on Jewgo should meaningfully relate to:
- Jewish-owned or Jewish-serving businesses
- Kosher food and services
- Jewish community services and institutions
- Products and services useful to Jewish customers
Jewgo is not tied to any specific denomination and aims to be useful across communities. Jewgo may remove storefronts that are primarily unrelated to the marketplace purposes of the platform.
Illegal Activity and Reporting
You may not use Jewgo to post, promote, request, or facilitate illegal activity, fraud, exploitation of minors, violence, malware, phishing, or other unlawful conduct. Jewgo reserves the right to report serious violations to law enforcement where appropriate.
Enforcement & Moderation
Jewgo provides an interactive platform that may display content created by users, businesses, and third parties. To the maximum extent permitted by 47 U.S.C. § 230 and other applicable law, Jewgo may moderate, remove, restrict, label, or decline to display content without becoming the publisher or speaker of that content. Jewgo has no obligation to monitor all content but may do so at its discretion.
Jewgo may:
- Remove content
- Hide listings
- Revoke ownership claims
- Suspend accounts
- Permanently remove accounts
For owner-claimed or paid listings, Jewgo will generally provide notice before taking enforcement action that materially affects listing-management access where circumstances allow. Jewgo reserves the right to act immediately and without prior notice where content poses a risk to safety, trust, or the community.
Moderation decisions consider:
- Context
- Intent
- Pattern of behavior
- Community impact
All enforcement decisions are made at Jewgo's discretion.
Reporting & Appeals
Users can report:
- Storefronts
- Reviews
- Profiles
- Messages
- Quotes
- Bookings
- Orders
- Invoices
If you believe moderation was applied incorrectly, contact [email protected].
Appeals are reviewed case-by-case.
Reinstatement is not guaranteed.
Updates
These guidelines may evolve as Jewgo grows and new features are introduced.
